Moniker "Apache Pro" which had exhibited MSI at
the Computex event some time ago, seems to have to change the new name that has
now been lined up to Raider Series. The four latest models are presented,
namely GE63VR, GE63, GE73VR, and GE73, marking the overall rebranding.
Still carrying the design of a sports car, the chassis that
used to appear to have similarities like its predecessor. Support 15-inch
display panel has been embedded on the GE63 model, while support 17-inch screen
panel used on the GE73 model.
Rely on Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor power on HM175
chipset support in collaboration with 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-2400 memory, making
system performance more optimal. Although the storage option is the same as its
predecessor, which includes a 2.5 "hard drive and two M.2 slots, with up
to two NVMe SSDs in the RAID 0 configuration, but storage capacity will vary
across the range of available models.
Similarly, the graphics card option offered is the same as
its predecessor, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 (7RC), Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
(7RD), Nvidia GeForce 1060 (7RE), and Nvidia GeForce 1070 (7RF). While the
inclusion of the name "VR" on the exemplary model of the product only
applies if the graphics card used model at least Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, for
example, GE63VR7RE is a 15-inch model equipped with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
graphics card.
Whether it's a 15-inch model or a 17-inch model has the same
display options as its predecessor. Consumers can choose between a 120Hz
display panel that supports 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution with 3ms response time
capability (claimed to be the first in the world) or an IPS 3840 × 2160 pixel
display panel.
The connectivity used is the same although there is a
difference of support, where the GE63 and GE73 models use USB 3.1 Type-C
interface and three USB 3.0 ports. The HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.3 interfaces
can connect to external displays or HMD VRs, and you can go online thanks to
the gigabit Killer E2500 or Wi-Fi 802.11ac LAN connection (with Wireless Killer
AC present in the previous 7RE / 7RF model).
In order to bring the durability of the operation is longer,
MSI seems to have equip the model GE63 Raider and GE73 Raider with the
existence of six cell battery that became its flagship. As for the power
adapter support the system itself spelled out varied based on the graphics
performance support settings selected, namely:
- 135W adapter for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card
support
- 150W adapter for Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti graphics card
support
- 180W adapter for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card
support
- 230W adapter for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card
support
MSI itself has reportedly revealed the full specification of
the latest Raider Series gaming laptop is. But the price and availability,
unfortunately still not known so far.
